Bond energies table

The science table builder makes practical results tables and curated reference data. The bond energies set shown above pairs a balanced equation with exactly the bond values pupils need, ready for energy change calculations.

Why this works in Chemistry

The demo shows the combustion of ethene. The table carries just five bond energies, the ones this reaction uses, so pupils are not hunting through a data sheet. Turn on show structures and every molecule is drawn with its bonds visible, so the class counts bonds from the structure the way the exam paper presents it.

Bond energy questions go wrong at the counting stage more often than the arithmetic. Putting the structures beside the table makes the counting visible and checkable on the board, and switching the question to a missing bond reverses it, pupils are given the overall energy change and rearrange to find the hidden value.
