Plenary Studio Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This policy explains how to cancel a Plenary Studio subscription and when you are entitled to a refund. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Payments are processed by Stripe; subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in pounds sterling by Teach-Craft Solutions Ltd (company number 16551043, registered office 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ).
1. Your 14-day cooling-off right
If you subscribe as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of starting a paid subscription, without giving a reason.
Because Plenary Studio gives you access to the paid features immediately, at checkout you expressly ask us to start the service straight away rather than waiting out the 14 days, and we confirm your subscription and that request by email. That confirmation email also restates your cancellation rights and links the model cancellation form, so you have them on record from day one. That means:
- You can still cancel at any point during the 14 days.
- If you do, we refund what you paid, minus a proportionate charge for the period you had the service before telling us you wanted to cancel. The deduction is calculated as a proportion of the total price for your billing period, based on the number of days that had elapsed when you told us you wished to cancel, relative to the full billing period. For example: cancel 7 days into a 30-day month and we refund 23/30 of the month's price; cancel 7 days into an annual plan and we refund 358/365 of the year's price. On an annual plan this is almost the whole payment, so the cooling-off period is genuine protection if you change your mind early.
- If you use up the 14 days without cancelling, the cooling-off right ends and the normal cancellation route below applies.
How to exercise it: email support@plenarystudio.co.uk saying you want to cancel within your cooling-off period; any clear statement is fine. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of this policy, but you do not have to. Cancelling via Settings → Manage billing counts too: if you cancel there within your first 14 days, we treat it as a cooling-off cancellation and will contact you about your refund; you do not need to email us separately, though you are welcome to. We will acknowledge your cancellation by email without delay.
When we refund you: we will reimburse you within 14 days of the day you tell us you are cancelling, to your original payment method, without charging a fee (section 5).
If your subscription started with a 7-day free trial: your first payment is taken when the trial ends (day 7), and your 14-day cooling-off period runs from the day you signed up for the trial, so it covers the whole trial and roughly the first week after your first payment. In practice:
- Cancel at any point during the trial and you pay nothing at all.
- Cancel after the trial has converted but within your 14 days and we refund your first payment, minus a proportionate charge for the paid days you had before telling us, calculated as in this section. Trial days are free and are never counted in the deduction. We will have reminded you by email at least 48 hours before the trial ended that the charge was coming, and how to cancel.
2. Cancelling at any other time
You can cancel whenever you like, no questions asked:
- Go to Settings → Manage billing in the app.
- You will be taken to our payment provider's secure billing portal.
- Choose Cancel subscription.
Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: the end of the month on a monthly plan, or the end of the paid year on an annual plan. You keep full paid access until then, and you will not be charged again. Outside the 14-day cooling-off period we do not give partial refunds for the unused remainder of a billing period, unless the law requires it or section 4 applies. Worth knowing before you choose annual billing: cancelling an annual plan mid-year does not refund the remaining months, so the annual discount is a trade against that flexibility.
What happens to your saved work: nothing. After cancellation your account moves to the free plan and your saved resources stay yours and stay accessible. We do not delete your work because you stopped paying: you can keep viewing, presenting, exporting, and downloading everything you have saved, indefinitely, while your account exists. The free plan's limits (no AI generation, a monthly cap on new saves) apply only to what you make next, never to what you already have. Resources are only removed if you delete them yourself or delete your account.
3. The free plan
The free plan costs nothing, needs no payment details, and can be abandoned at any time; there is nothing to cancel or refund. You can also delete your account entirely at any time via Settings → Delete my account (see the Privacy Policy for how account deletion works).
4. When we will always refund you
We will refund you in full, promptly, if:
- we charged you in error, or charged you twice;
- you were charged after cancelling in line with this policy;
- we withdraw the service or remove a paid feature you were paying for; in that case any paid period you will not receive is refunded pro-rata.
If the paid features are unavailable for a sustained period, the availability remedy in section 7 of the Terms of Service applies: where the paid features are unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to a fault within our reasonable control, you can ask for a pro-rata refund or account credit for the affected period. For anything else that has gone wrong, email us and we will put it right where we should.
This policy does not reduce your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill, and your rights in relation to digital content (such as a repair, replacement, or price reduction where digital content is faulty).
5. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe, without any fee. Cooling-off refunds are issued within 14 days of your cancellation notice; other refunds are issued without undue delay. Once issued, refunds typically appear in your account within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
